IMPROVING OUR

HEALTH & WELL-BEING

The La Jolla Y is a leading voice on health and well-being. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, many are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being.

ANNUAL GIVING PROGRAM
Annual Giving Program

2012 Annual Giving Program

Goal: $435,000 - 50% of total funds raised go directly to supporting our community through financial assistance.

22% - Financial Assistance for
Single Parents

$95,700 allows us to serve 593 single parent families giving comfort that their kids are receiving quality care in our Pre-school and Character Builders Before and After School Programs. Serving families has always been at the heart of the Y. We are a place where they can find respite from social, economic and educational challenges, and learn how to overcome them.

18% - Financial Assistance for Low Income Adults and Families

$78,300 allows us to serve 1,394 kids by providing youth sports, gymnastics, aquatics and camp and family strengthening programs. We have a fundamental desire to provide opportunities for every family to build stronger bonds, achieve greater work/life balance, and become more engaged with their communities.

10% - Financial Assistance for Seniors

$43,500 allows us to serve 273 seniors providing membership assistance. We believe healthy lifestyles, fun and exploring new interests aren't just for the young. Along with improving health, seniors find a social connection here at the Y.

35% - Keeping Program Costs Low

$152,250 allows us to serve 18,330 people annually to deliver over 220 affordable programs/activities. Our programs, services and initiatives enable kids to realize their fullest potential, prepare teens for college, offer ways for families to have fun together, empower people to be healthier in spirit, mind and body, prepare people for employment, welcome and embrace newcomers and help foster a community service ethic.

15% - New Program Development
and Inclusion

$62,250 allows us to develop new youth, teen, family and senior activities that meet the needs of our community. It also enables us to include children with disabilities and special needs in our programs and camps. The Y values everyone, regardless of differences and takes an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion and cultural competence.

La Jolla Y'S Commitment

We know that when we work as one, we move people and communities forward. We are committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults, and families.

At the Y, building a strong global community begins at home. Ninety-two cents ($.92) of every dollar you donate will be put directly to work in programs that our Y provides to our local community. We serve more than 18,330 members and participants annually throughout the communities of La Jolla, University City, North Clairemont, Sorrento Valley, Carmel Valley and North Pacific Beach. Membership and program fees alone do not fully cover true costs of our services. Please consider supporting our many vital community needs.
