The La Jolla Y is a leading voice on health and well-being. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, many are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve greater health and well-being.
2013 annual Giving Program
$450,000 Goal - 50% of total funds raised go directly to supporting our community through Financial Assistance.
23% Financial Assistance for Single Parents
$103,500 allows us to serve 778 single parent families giving comfort that their children are receiving quality care. We believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. Through the Y, youth are cultivating the values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement.
20% Financial Assistance for Low Income Adults and Families
$90,000 allows us to serve 1,562 kids, families and adults in their journey of health and wellness. With a mission centered on balance, the Y brings families closer together, encourages good health and fosters connections through fitness, sports, fun and shared interests. As a result, families in our community are receiving the support, guidance and resources needed to achieve health and well-being for their spirit, mind and body.
7% Financial Assistance for Seniors
$31,500 allows us to serve 304 seniors providing membership assistance. Our seniors experience a strong sense of belonging and a network of friends who provide supportive communities for sustained health and well-being. Through fun, safe, and engaging activities seniors increase their self-confidence and sense of achievement while building relationships and celebrating their success.
33% Keeping Program Costs Low
$148,500 allows us to serve over 18,000 people annually to deliver more than 240 affordable programs to our community. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. At the Y, strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
17% New Program Development and Inclusion
$76,500 allows us to deliver new youth, teen, family, adult and senior activities that meet the needs of our community. It also enables us to include children with disabilities and special needs in our programs and camps. We are passionate about our quest to help others, and we devote our full strength and concentrated attention to our cause.
La Jolla Y'S Commitment
We know that when we work as one, we move people and communities forward. We are committed to providing support to our neighbors and opportunities for kids, adults, and families.At the Y, building a strong global community begins at home. Ninety-two cents ($.92) of every dollar you donate will be put directly to work in programs that our Y provides to our local community. We serve more than 18,330 members and participants annually throughout the communities of La Jolla, University City, North Clairemont, Sorrento Valley, Carmel Valley and North Pacific Beach. Membership and program fees alone do not fully cover true costs of our services. Please consider supporting our many vital community needs.
