Induction Ceremony
Activities are limitless at Indian Hills Camp. Kids can enjoy the playground, obstacle course, BMX bicycle park, archery, a craft and more. We will be holding our traditional induction campfire where Maiden & Brave leaders are inducted and new members are welcomed. We'll spend the night in rustic cabins and enjoy our meals in the dining hall.

When: November 14-16, 2008

Directions: Take 94 east into Rancho San Diego (from I-5 or I-805).At the third street light turn right to stay on 94 east bound. Go 5.5 miles and turn left on Lyons Valley Rd. Go 1.5 miles to the first stop sign. At the stop sign, the name changes to Skyline Truck Trail. Go straight on Skyline T.T. for 2.3 miles. Turn right on Lawson Valley Rd. and go 1/4 mile. Make a sharp left back onto Lyons Valley Rd. We are one mile on the right.


Big Bear Skiing

We'll see you in our local winter wonderland. Maiden & Braves will have the chance to hit the slopes on skis or snowboards, ride a sled or build a snowman! Big Bear offers an assortment of winter activities. Don't forget to bundle up! We will be lodging in condos, seperate from the guides and princesses.

You can make your ski/snowboard reservations through the La Jolla YMCA. Complete the order form and turn it in with your registration.

Schedule: Open activities on Saturday and Sunday include:
  • Skiing or Snowboarding
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Sledding
  • Hiking

Directions: 15 North to 215 North to 10 East towards Redlands - go 5.4 miles. Take CA-30 exit towards Highland (CA-330) - go 4.7 miles. Take CA-330 North exit towards Mnt. Resorts - go 15.5 miles. Continue on CA-18 - go 16 miles. Continue on Spruce Rd - go 0.2 miles. Continue on Lake View Dr - go 0.5 miles. Continue on Big Bear Blvd

Catalina Campout
Many consider this the most exciting event of the year in the Adventure Guides program. Spend a wonderful weekend on beautiful Catalina Island tent camping at Two Harbors Campground. The fun starts with an adventurous boat ride through the Pacific Ocean. Once we hit shore, activities include kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, hiking and enjoying scenic Two Harbors. Give your child a taste of "roughing it" while exploring some of the most beautiful landscape California has to offer


Where: Depart San Pedro for Two Harbors Campground, Catalina Island

When: July 25-27, 2009 (subject to change)

Directions: 5 North to 405 North to 110 South into San Pedro. Take the terminal Island exit, ramp 47. Stay in right lane. Exit Harbor Blvd. Follow signs to Catalina Terminal, Bertha 95.

Braves

(mother/son) K-4th Graders

Description: We will provide opportunities for mothers and sons to meet a mutual need of spending fun, constructive, and quality time together. Activities will enable parent and child to share interests and discover new experiences and abilities together. We will set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between mother and son.

Maidens

(mother/daughter) K-4th Graders

Description: The program provides the framework for mothers and daughters to meet a mutual need of spending fun, constructive, and quality time together. Activities will encourage parent and child to work together on projects and activities, learning new skills and appreciating community values. We will set a foundation for positive, lifelong relationships between mother and daughter.
