Adventure Guides

  • Parent and child participate together in group meetings and outings that incorporate a variety of recreational and educational activities. We aim to emphasize the vital role that parents play in the growth and development of their children.
  • Each program reinforces the awareness of nature, community, and family ties. All members of the community are invited to join the Adventure Guides programs.
  • There are programs designed for dads and moms with children ages 5-14.
  • Participants will be grouped into circles which consist of 8-12 parent/child units.
  • New members will be placed in an existing circle, or combined to form a new circle. You can also assemble a group to start your own new circle.
  • Each group meets once a month for circle activities and once a month for nation events, bringing all circles together.

The La Jolla Adventure Guide program is one of the strongest in the County, with over 500 participants in over 25 circles and four nations. We invite you to join us because you'll never forget the time you spend together.

Family Programs
Families are at the center of the La Jolla YMCA and our mission. We provide programs and services to develop strength and priority of the family. We aim to enhance the quality of family time by designing fun and exciting activities for all ages. Your experience with your child, parent, spouse, grandparent or any family member will create memories to last a lifetime. The YMCA believes in strengthening families through our Adventure Guides programs, offering children and their parents opportunities to laugh, love, learn, and grow together. We also offer a great line up of activities on our Family Events Calendar.
